Hailing from Essex, Steve began DJing in the early 90's - starting
out by putting on a weekly club night in Chelmsford called ESOTERICA
which lasted for 3 years. In 1996 he started working for UNIVERSAL
RECORDS as a Club Promotions Manager and took the opportunity to
relocate to London and further his interest in DJing. It wasn't
long before he launched himself on London's buzzing gay scene -
his first London residency coming from a short stint at the pub
'Comptons'. Within the next 12 months he had positioned himself
at the centre of the scene - with residencies at 'Freedom', 'Barcode',
'Sub-Station SoHo','The Edge' and 'Escape'. By
1999 he had also added 'Heaven', 'Salvation' and now defunked 'PSP'
after-hours club to the list.
His
big break came shortly after the opening of London Super-club, 'CRASH',
where he started playing in the small back room. It wasn't long
before he got to try out the main room - more than 2 years ago,
and hasn't looked back since. Crash also have a successful monthly
night at the 'Queen' in Paris where Steve has played on an 'every
other month' resident basis. His musical style is difficult to pigeon
hole: in his set you're likely to hear almost everything - whether
it be an obscure remix of a Justin Timberlake track or the latest
US TWISTED RECORDS release - all mixed together perfectly. Over
the last 2 years he has slowly built up a loyal following. His guest
slots at London's newest after-hours party, BEYOND,have seen the
main room at it's busiest. Here he's able to be more experimental
with his sounds and you'll also hear a few classics and accapella's
thrown in the mix to tease the crowd.
Since
last summer when he wowed them at the gay week in Italy hes
become a request for the Gay Ski week and for the next summers
week Sensations week in Sicily. It seems thiss guy is winning
new friends and fans everywhere he travels and it just goes to show
hes not just a pretty face.
